Stop pretending…. and sustain Beyond Growth

When in 2019, Jonathan Frenzen wrote his pampleth ‘What if we stopped pretending?”, he shared the strong fear that the collective action that should have been taken years ago to avoid the climate catastrophe was at this stage useless. His blunt reasoning was that it is better to face the inevitable with sincerity and hope, instead of illusion and paternalism. If the inevitable is accepted but “the collective action would achieve at least the reduction of one devastating hurricane” still would be worth putting the action in place. Many politicians, fixed on short term consensus fear to take action so….the inevitable is happening
